Im gonna sound crazy... Quail diapers?

You could probably find ones for parakeets, But I agree, Its probably not the best idea to put a diaper on a bird lol. Maybe put paper towel or potty pad down where he likes to cuddle on you? lol
Button quail are nuts. I highly doubt this bird is keeping still without being held down.

I'm not set on a diaper, I have just heard about them and was curious. It's getting pretty old when I find little turds on my blanket and computer. I use paper towels. He usually sits there and gets chin scratches. Thank you for letting me know they arent good

I hatched him. Ever since I felt he was old enough to handle I starting the process. I had to get him to gain my trust. I never force him to be held unless I have to. I spent a lot of time around his cage, talking to him, giving him food from my hand. He is my only quail currently. He is not the friendliest towards other quail. I figured it would be better to not get him another partner. I had a quail before (it passed) He often picked on her. Ever since they were little chicks he would pick on it. Of course, he's not like a dog and craves attention. As I walk by or pick up my room he watches. If I approach the cage he doesn't freak out. He will come up to my hand if I put it in there. Like I said it was a lengthy process. If I reach from above he gets spooked. If he sees the dogs he gets spooked. I don't reach from above on purpose. I try to keep the dogs away from him. Just today he was asleep in my hands while I watched a video for school. Of course, after about 20 minutes he took a huge poop on me. luckily it fell mostly on the paper towel.

If he already lives in the house, maybe you could just keep him inside of a big square bin like a cat litter box when you wanna hang out with him outside of his enclosure... maybe put a small dust bath in there, some things to make him wanna stay inside... it probably won't work...but..I really wouldn't want poop on my stuff...

That's a neat idea! Yeah, poop on blankets isn't fun, Luckily it was a cheap fabric square that I never ended up doing anything with.
