I'm having speech trouble and it's getting embarrasing!

I just hope I didn;t offend anyone with my post. It was meant to be a joke, like what my co-worker did. Talk about thinking on the fly!

Actually, you're right, and I should have kept my mouth shut.

Open mouth, insert foot, and chew well, sometimes. Sigh.

I am sure you would no more make fun of people with Tourette's, or any other condition, than I would.

You are right, I never would. I work with disabled people all day long and not a one of them gets made fun of, and if someone else does they have hell to pay with me. We have one rider that has no arms and no legs and someone called a tadpole within ear shot of me. They will NEVER say anything like that again, believe me!!!!

Dang Deb, you corrected it before I could say anything. Stop standing so close to me. It's catching!

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that!!!

I am a retired RN and worked for many years with nursing home residents. Basically, everyone was disabled, in some sense. Fortunately, in that setting, I ran into more old fashioned ignorance, than outright crudeness like the tadpole remark. Try explaining to an 18 year old that people over 70 or 80 may still enjoy sexual relations.

'Nuff said, on a family friendly board; I do think kids should know this is the case, though!

DDawn I was an administrator for assisted living, and I have learned that every single human being on the face of this earth has things wrong with them. And they are mostly all loveable in one way or another. Notice I say mostly.....

Actually you have the symptoms of being in a Fibromyalgia "Fog". When I am having a flare, my words get very ummmm, interesting to say the least.

Peri menopause can cause the same word twisting and substitutions. It's a good thing you are getting it checked out, but try not to sweat it.

That's an even better way of putting it. After a while, I also stopped thinking in terms of who was disabled and who wasn't, as it's about how, not who.

I think I'll leave the lovable thing alone!!!

Okay, I'll spill (as much as I can on a family friendly forum). Bulls have something cows don't, if you get my drift. Sooooo, we pass this bull and I said, My goodness! Would you look at the BULL on those _______.
The other thing, today at the grocery story? I announced pretty loudly, much to the amusement of everyone on the cookie aisle, that I wanted some graham (has the same first two letters as crackers and is another word for toilet).
