We are going on lockdown Tuesday with our eggs from our BO rooster who was killed by a fox and our BO hen and a EE hen. We have 12 eggs left, 4 of which we couldn't see during candling bc the green is too dark and shells too thick. Our girls shells are very thick--much more than the different ones I tried to hatch last time, I could see those easily. We tried all sorts of flashlights, but couldn't see for sure.
I hope we've had everything right, the last (and first) time I tried to incubate eggs we had a huge temperature spike and then my cat knocked over the whole group of eggs on day 15 or so. This time we kept them out in an office with steady air flow in the room to avoid temperature fluxuations. We are hoping to get a rooster and a couple girls out of the hatch to keep and give away the rest if they make it.
*excited* Good luck everyone!
