might want to ask your neighbor if he's losing chickens every day, or if there's a pattern. we found in one area we'd see the same pack every 3rd night, in another area, every 5 days. seemed they hunted a circuit of sorts.
where we are now, we're situated between 3 separate packs and I hear one or more of them calling every night. in 6 months we haven't lost any birds to coyotes, but we've got them in a metal building on concrete foundation at night. and we've got LGDs which I think help keep the coyotes out of the yard, at least I've never seen any sign of them on the property, but I hear them just the other side of our fence.
