That large trap at TS is a peice of POOP don't waist your money, My dogs can get out of them and had a bob cat get out the same way, they just bent the flimsy trap door braces.
shoot the yote or keep some big territoral dogs around.

It is done it just takes a lot longer to put one in a cage it involves tieing the cage open and baiting and baiting and baiting it is a lot quicker with foot traps or snares snares being my preference I have hung snare under fences and had the coyote the next morning where it might take 3 weeks to a month to get one to go into a cage and most folks do not want to have to pay for a cage a yote can fit into there are several brands of cages that are a much stronger trap then hava junks

Thanks for the heads up. I hate flimsy traps.
I bought one from harbor freight and the second coon tore it to shreds. You get what you pay for, at least they gave me my money back when I returned the pieces. What a waste of time and worse yet I now have a trap educated coon.

It really is a shame that the neighbor didn't tell you that the coyotes were killing his birds. You did the neighborly thing when you went over to tell him abut the coyote attack on your own birds.

Coyotes are hard to trap. Not sure about a live trap but I have leg hold trapped coyote before and they are very smart. You will get about everything else first (neighbors dogs).

When I trapped full time back when pelts were worth something I bought all my stuff through mail order trapper supply. I prefer snares myself. They outlawed the best one cyanide tablets.

I didn't know the OP was a 2 year old child when I said it wouldn't attack.

No, but the new neighbors do have a very young child and small dogs. That's what worries me. We haven't seen the coyote back, but the neighbors are baiting. We have a doberman, but he's not allowed free reign because we live in an area where dogs get stolen quite a bit. We are in a high rabies area too.
