I have 1 rooster with laryngitis and wheezing when breathing. I went to the feed store today and bought Terra Vet and I'm baffled as to how much to give and, how often to give it. I want to take him aside and give him the meds in yogurt(his favorite). I don't want to further stress him by separating him from his girls. We have warm weather here and he seems like he feels well otherwise(mating like crazy). I don't want to put it in their water because the hens thus far don't need it. Also, I know I said I wasn't going to give it to the hens but, if they become sick what to do? The back of the bag says "Do not administer this to chickens or turkeys producing eggs for human consumption."What do other hen owners do when their hens become sick?
Thanks

Separate all the sick ones. If I have to give antibiotics to a hen..I do so for the recommended time then I wait 2 weeks after the hen is done before we start eating the eggs. I hope your roo gets better, but he needs to be separated so the other don't get his cold, ect. He will make it with out the girls for a few days. The separation is worth it. I hope this helps. Our weather temp today is 50 sunny, windy.. a lot better than what it has been.
