Really? I just looked them up to make sure I was thinking about the right ones and it said they laid large eggs. WTH? I hope your chicken watching results in an egg. Yesterday one of my eggers was fighting w/ my australorp over the only nest that is worth laying it. In the end the egger laid and the aussie didn't.

Lol! I don't know what they're calling a large egg. She's laying a little bigger than when she started but by no means are they large. I guess logically they should be, she eats the most but she has the smallest mouth. She lays pretty much everyday so as long as she's doing something I'm not going to complain. I'm really hoping Bea lays the last green egg i got was in September i think.

I know what you mean. I have 12 girls and I'm getting 4-5 eggs a day now. My bantam hasn't laid since the beginning of last month, but she went through a pretty heavy molt & I'm still seeing her feathers on the floor. I'm seeing a lot of white feathers too, so not sure whose those are. I'm not sure how long these molts are supposed to last, but I'd be surprised if I still have anyone laying by Xmas.

Susan my actual ameracuna should be laying she was first to molt and she's done looks normal but no egg. Bea the beaster egger was second, she's almost normal her tail is still a little stubby but she's trying to lay "i think." Marlene the Delaware still looks awful! Patchy no tail just pitiful. :(

Yay!!!! She's not a freeloader like the rest of them! LOL I don't know why, but I kind of like the tail-less chickens. They look so funny w/ their stubby little tail-less butts.

I do too, they remind me of kiwi birds. I'm wondering if Bea is actually back laying or is this a fluke, Marlene laid on the roost a couple weeks ago and she looks terrible. Maybe since she actually went to the nest its a good omen.

Oh Ive been laughing out loud while catching up here! I sure needed the lift this morning. I recently was taken out of work by my Dr, because my bones keep breaking. No one can figure out why. Of course, some people think I must have some dreaded chicken disease! So, I'm as broke as eggs laid on a poop board! Its getting me down.

Meanwhile, my run blew away in a wind storm and the ground turned into a mud wrestling pit! Plus I still have poor Lucy, the picked. naked girl in lockdown from the others.

My sister and I have been working constantly, and got everything fixed up again. The mud is now all fixed too. We are the queens of doing things with no money! LOL
I know this sounds like a platitude, but sometimes everything goes to crap all at once because you are going to make a BIG shift for the better, and you're getting a giant shove/nudge that it's going to happen soon.

It's the moments leading up to the change: when you're covered in mud and rain, sick and broken and crying, feeling alone and depressed that suck pretty hard. You're gonna be better than ok -- you're gonna be great! You got this!

(I'm dealing with Mystery Illness myself, and I have the MOST unsupportive doctor. I'd fire him if I could, but the only other specialist around isn't taking new patients. I'm stuck with choir boy Doogie Houser....grrrrrr)

I hope their is some good coming! All I see right now is the holidays coming and being broke! And Ive def been covered in mud and rain, trying to fix that run. It was mud that sunk you up to your knees! My illness is so weird and I think Ive been tested for almost everything with no for sure result. I hope you find an answer.

On the "up" side: I found 4 eggs yesterday and they were all in a nestbox! Usually 1 is on the poop board, 1 is in a corner and 1 is in the middle of the coop floor! Here is my haul from yesterday! My camera makes everything light, all eggs are a bit darker than they appear in photo. That green looking one is actually more blue.
