That's really not terrible IMO. This time of year they have the declining hours of daylight working against them.
It felt terrible! haha. I'd like some eggs for the baking season. I feel so angry buying eggs when I have these full bodied, red, plumpy combed and wattled girls running around!

:fl that you soon have dozens on your fridge! :D

Where did she lay the egg? I didn't find my first egg until there were 2 deposited within a small circle of twigs in a secluded corner of the yard. Such a cute little 'minimalist' nest:lol:.
She laid it right in front of the nest box on the coop floor! I give her points for being close! She had been in the nest box, I could see where she made a divet to fit her body.

I must say that this has been such an entertaining thread! I have been accused of all things said...I do not have chickens yet, but have in the past. I did order some eggs from MPC that should arrive any day. So as to the addiction...I went to an estate sale and was given a bird cage for free. So I had it empty outside for a few months. Thinking if it is meant to be a bird will come. Then HA! I woke up to my dog going nuts and I discovered a young sparrow had come inside the house. So then my bird craze started! I of course caught the bird and released it. Then I got 2 beautiful parakeets for the cage. Then...2 zebra finches, then 2 button Quail, then 2 society finches(which just hatched a new baby), then 6 more parakeets and 4 young zebra finches! I am crazy! I think? But I do enjoy them so much. And they don't require a bra, lol!
