That's really not terrible IMO. This time of year they have the declining hours of daylight working against them.1 down, 8 more to go! Finally, after 27-28 weeks.

She laid it right in front of the nest box on the coop floor! I give her points for being close! She had been in the nest box, I could see where she made a divet to fit her body.Where did she lay the egg? I didn't find my first egg until there were 2 deposited within a small circle of twigs in a secluded corner of the yard. Such a cute little 'minimalist' nest.
