Hey everyone!!
My husband and I bought an acreage with an old farm house about a year ago! Derecho here in Iowa and renovating our entire home derailed our plans of adding chickens and cattle to our farm until this year. Today, I brought home our chicks. 6 of them. 2 of each - Wyandotte, Buff Brahma, & Easter Eggers. We have a small trailer bed we plan on turning into a mobile coop for these ladies to free range the yard that will include a nesting box and roost. We have a 4 year old English Springer Spaniel, it'll be fun training her to stay away, but she takes pretty well after being told no a couple times
We will be adding a black lab to our family next month! She will get to grow up knowing the ladies so I imagine they will boss her around My family and I love the outdoors! I work from home full time so I love when its nice out and I get to spend my breaks walking my pups or playing outside!! A friend of mine introduced me to this group I am here for any helpful tips/advice you have to offer a very much beginner!!
