Moved two more to the brooder, making an even 40 in the brooder!

Assisted one chick a bit. Looks like it had gotten its beak stuck when trying to zip. It had been stuck with its beak poking out all morning. Saw it making chewing motions and figured I’d assist. So four in the incubator.

I know it’s probably wishful thinking but the stargazer also seems a tiny bit better. Less reaching for the sky and more napping and preening attempts.

Um, not sure if you know, but BYC has a mobile app. You could watch the chicks and be on BYC at the same time

I’m working from home today. So if not stuck in a Teams meeting, I can have my phone in hand on BYC and my eyeballs actually pointed at the chicks

Cleaned all the empty egg shells out of the incubator. Found two more that looked like they zipped a while ago. Moved them to the front.

So the three that are closest to the white block (hygrometer) are more or less zipped and still alive.

Might assist them later. If they aren’t meant to make it, they should at least get to spend some time out of the shell and feel the air on their bodies.

I think so. Today is day 18 that ends at 3pm. These started hatching on day 16. So the window is fast closing.

I will probably leave the incubator running until tomorrow after I get home from work and then clean it out and call it quits.
