I wouldn't normally ask for a prayer request. But this one is needed very badly.
My 20 year old neice, Jeanie, is in a hospital in Northern California, headed for surgery as I type.
She started getting sick, thought it was strep throat about a week and half ago. Seemed to clear up, then she went on a road trip with some "friends". Couple days later they were heading into California and dropped her off at a hospital, with $50 and left her there. My sister made a trip down to bring her back...the problem was that no one told her how serious Jeanie's condition is.
She presented with Sepsis (bacterial infection of the blood stream). Doctors were aggressively treating her but couldn't find an antibiotic that would kill the bacteria. Jeanie now has the infection in her lungs, heart, and possibly her bones. She's got abcesses deep within her dissues. One is between her heart and lungs, one is at the base of her skull, one deep in a hip joint and one at the base of her tail bone. She's also got something going on in her skin, some other kind of infection. Her vitals have been erratic, though she is conscious and speaking. High fever, high resperation, low blood pressure, very high pulse. Today the finally found an antibiotic that seems to affect this bacteria...but it's not working very fast.
Jeanie went from thinking she was getting strep again to this sick in less than 48 hours.
