Hi! I'm soooooo happy to have found this forum!

My name is Karen, manager of Aurora Rex Rabbit Ranch. I know lots of stuff about rabbits, but next to nothing about chickens, except eggs are tasty.

I'd like to acquire some chickens to put in the barn under the rabbit cages, and have been putting it off because I had no idea where to even start. I'm so looking forward to snooping through the forum posts and learning.

Now maybe I can start thinking about actually moving forward...

Hi Silkie,

I live in Washington State, and I have no idea (yet!) what kind of chickens I want. Hehheh, ones that lay big eggs, I think. I can't even think about getting any, until I figure out the housing piece, and how to keep them safe from raccoons. The rabbit "barn" is just 3 Costco canopies joined together, so seems like I have to build something predator-proof. I saw some posts about '1 nest per 4 chickens,' etc, so I'm pretty sure that the info I need is here...somewhere...
