I'm so old I Remember when:

Being of Italian descent my dad didn't go anywhere to include checking the mail without being dressed. Always at least dress pants, belt, dress shirt and shoes and combed hair. The amount of jewelry was dependent on where he was going and I don't think he owned jeans or any other t shirt other than under shirts. I like dressing up but don't really go many places to warrant it. My daily is just under shirt and hair gel. Everything else is just whatever
My fathe also grew up in the 1940s. Until the day he died, he wore dress pants, a dress shirt over an undershirt, and dress shoes, every day. He worked in a machine shop, and still dressed up. They all did! I have a photo to prove it.

My dad was born in 33, he worked in a shipyard as a pipefitter )pretty much same thing). I remember my mom wore dresses with a hat and if going out elbow length gloves. She passed when I was 13 so I don't remember much of that. I would have been fine growing up in the 40s era with the clothes. Even maybe a Lil earlier

That is just the normal things with the older generation, be respectful, proper, orderly. We are more casual now, sometimes too casual.
I am particular with my shoes, proper shoes that cover the feet, and I do try to be more properly/formally dress when I leave the house. At home, I think my chickens dress better than me.
My mom and grandma take forever to get ready whenever we go shopping. Especially my grandma, her hair was very thin and she insisted to go to the hairdresser. I say I can do it, she replied NO.
It is really nice to see older people still dress up properly, they make life seem not so chaotic.
I'd love to be able to wear my suit more often. It fits good if I do say so myself. If you know what to look for it really matters to have a nice fitted suit. Alot of times men look like they're wearing a jacket way too big. Like it's draped over them instead of wearing it and slacks with too short of an inseam almost to the knees. It looks so bad

I'm so old I can remember when my joints didn't predict the weather.
Lol, good one, Elkman!
