I'm so old I Remember when:

Sounds about right. My uncle went there and he wrote about it in his book.

We went to the tar pits and Griffith ages ago. I would love to do those again now that I'm older.

Cabrillo was quite nice. We went there lots.

Olvera street is quite nice. I don't know if I've got too many photos from last time (June 2023).

I still love going to museums and stuff. Especially the ones in pretty buildings.

I just ran across these photos of Olvera Street being constructed, the top is 1926 and the bottom is 1930. Note Los Angeles City Hall in the second photo. It was built in 1928. I've always loved that building.

I used to play croquet all the time and the most damage was from swinging the mallet around and hitting myself or someone else .

We used to have such nice games, though, thanks for reminding me of those times :).

I would be playing barefoot and I guess I wouldn’t be paying that much attention to when
the balls would be coming my way

I was always barefoot in the summertime

I only started wearing sandals when they made it a law in Mobile sometime after 1981

AKA Chicken Licken, and sometimes Chicken Little.
Could have been Chicken Little that got hit in the head and Henny Penny was another character in the book or even in another book. I had forgotten Chicken Little. Been so many decades gone by in a flash since I was in the first grade.

Little Red Hen was baking bread?

Who was Henny Penny???

:barnie
"One day Henny Penny is pecking corn in the farmyard when – whack! An acorn falls on her head. She believes that the sky is falling and decides to go and tell the King. On her way to the King she meets many animal friends like Cocky-Locky, Ducky-Lucky, Goosey-Loosey and Turkey-Lurkey."
