I'm so old I Remember when:

I could list out my phones.
Lumia 520.
Moto E 2nd gen
Fire Phone
iPhone 4
iPhone 5s
Note 5
Note 9
Pixel 4
and my current one, Pixel 6.

The Lumia, Moto, and Fire were all hand me downs from my Uncle. The iPhone 4 was $3 at a estate sale, the 5s was a hand-me-down from Nana, the Note 5 was a unwanted phone from my Aunt, the Note 9 was also from my Uncle, and I got the two Pixels, unlike all of my other phones (save the iPhone).

Of course thats been about 40 give or take years ago

WHO REMEMBERS their first cell

I remember my first cell phone

The options in our price range were either a stationary car phone that did not move with a long corded hand held receiver or a portable one that you could
take with you

I chose the portable one that I could take with me

Take off the car charger and the electrical outlet plug and the rest was its own purse that I carried around

Of course thats been about 40 give or take years ago

I don't remember the phone itself but I do remember I was in my forties and held out as long as I could until a job required I have one. It might have been a flip phone. I knew a guy about that time who had a Star Trek original series communicator flip phone.

I also remember when texting became a thing and my attorney told me to never use it. She still doesn't.

& this cell was phone calls only

& the battery was almost as big as the receiver but weighed way more

I carried a pager for many years but didn't get my first cell until I got my first nerd job in '99. It was a Nokia 3210 issued by the company. I didn't actually get my own personal cell until several years later. An LG Chocolate.

My 3th phone was an LG too.
I remember more oldies:
1. Nokia with a slide keyboard Crashed
2. Windows got outdated and useless after 3 years
3 LG, no safety updates after 3 years and the camera lens fell out.
4 Iphone 6 or 7 from work, loved it.
5 Iphone 11 , had it for almost 5 years and still good except it needed an earphone to make a normal call or I had put it on speaker. Gave it to a poor friend as a present .
6 Iphone 16 , :wee

I am using an iPhone 10 that my son gave me 2 years ago
I have no service on it but I do have Wi-Fi at home to watch BYC & other stuff

My real cell is with AT&T & is much smaller

& I still use old cells that no longer have service to watch BYC & other stuff
