I'm so old I Remember when:

I once saw an Abraham Lincoln picture made with all pennies. That was very cool looking but I don't remember where I saw it

I remember seeing pictures made with bottle caps

Looking up close was just a bunch of different bottle caps and not interesting at all

You had to step away a good bit to see the picture

And once you saw the picture

AMAZING

I remember drinking water from a garden hose

And drinking rain water from a barrel

And playing in the rain

I did not melt like the adults that told me I would melt if I got wet playing in the rain

Hey BYC peeps
Was anyone else out there told as a little girl 1961-1968

You are so sweet
You will melt if you get wet
Or something similar

I don’t know what the adults said to little boys

You have missed a lot of history that I had never heard of before. So entertaining for some of us. I never had a helmet either and drank a lot of water from a garden hose too.

I am remembering my past

some I have not thought about in years’sss and remembering what I was told

I am enjoying going back and reading this thread and remembering

Thank y’all

Might be a Southern thing.

My parents told me how smart I was, how strong I was, how inventive I was, how helpful I was, how nice I was to others, how proud of me they were... things like that. If I hadn't overheard Mom talking with others about me, I'd have no idea she thought I was pretty or sweet. Didn't bother me none either, I was having too much fun living every moment of my young life, secure in the knowledge my family loved me.

Yup. That was my experience too.

Or….. I could shine them up, mix up some epoxy acrylic, line them out on a nice board, pour the acrylic over them and have it as a table top or backsplash or something. Conversation piece!
Some body in town did a basement bar like that back in the 60s, I forget how many dollars he said he used, figure 2'x 8' and pennies touching.
