I remember when there was no 911 for an emergency. Had to dial 0 for an operator. Even further back..my Grandmother had a phone that you shared lines with. She shared with three different people if I remember correctly. If someone was on the line when you picked up the...ear listening part..you hung up. Hopefully the others hung up when you were on.

I think there are few good ones. I also think there should term limits in congress. People should not be able to make a career out of it.

There are term limits. You can vote them out of office any election they are running in. In some states you can vote to recall them.

Ah yes, the party line; we actually still had them in some areas when I was kid in the Midwest. These were farms with hundreds of acres though, out in the boonies where it took an hour to get to town.

I do not want term limits. When we get a decent representative that votes the way I want them too, I don't want to lose that person to term limits. If the person is not voting the way I want, I will vote against them.

I remember when my FFA chapter had a magazine selling contest. Whoever sold the most subscriptions won a 12ga 3 shot pump shotgun. Second place won a single shot bolt action 410ga shotgun and 3rd place won a high grade hunting knife. I came in second. They were handed out to us at school. About 1960 and there were no school shootings then.

Technically, the first school shooting was in 1840. And the first big one was in 1966, committed by C. J. Whitman. But yeah, the school shootings back then usually only had 1 or 2 fatalities and most of those were school staff.
