I'm so old I Remember when:

Big contrast to the things people wear and don't wear in public today!

Walmart seems to be a gathering place for people in these odd wardrobes. šŸ¤”
When I was going to a university in person a couple professors dressed…let’s just say very casually. The interesting thing was at the little community college everyone was very professional and dressed like it :idunno.

This doesn't suprise me in the least.

I started college at a community college in '64 and no one could wear jeans. I had on a pair of dress slacks one day and a prof called me over to the side and told me I wasn't allowed to wear jeans. I had to buy a different kind of dress pants. Time have changed.
Facial hair was not allowed where I went. People wanted to know how I got away with a goatee when I worked so close to the Dean's office.

Properly treated and cared for, cast iron is the original non stick pan.

I really like my Revere Ware that you can't get any more.
I've got the whole set of Revere Ware with the copper bottoms and a piece or two of the later ones with the thick bottom.
About 10 years back a handle on the bigger stock pot needed replacing. eBay to the rescue. The new handle came in a set of 2 so I kept the other one. Used it on the shorter stock pot last month.

Who else was it on this thread a hundred or so pages ago that holds on to such things as what might could come in handy some day?

Shortly before they got bought out, my niece had a problem. They immediately replaced it without any questions.

I can’t imagine our local food chain closing out so I doubt Rouses would either. It’s interesting how each section of the country has its own line of grocery stores. In New England it’s Shaw’s (the oldest grocery store in that area), down in Florida it’s Publix, Middle Eastern states (Ohio, Kentucky, etc) it’s Kroger, north middle states (Michigan, Wisconsin) it’s Meijer, and here it’s Martins/Giant. Those are just the ones I’m familiar with

My favorite grocery store was always Piggly Wiggly when I lived in Texas. I just enjoyed saying the name. šŸ˜†
We've got a few Piggly Wiggly in Oklahoma, also. Another name that's fun to say is Tote-A-Poke, the 7-11 of very rural far eastern Oklahoma.
