I'm so old I Remember when:

Facial hair was not allowed where I went.
My uncle subbed at my school occasionally, not any class I was in. He had a beard. They wondered if he was a Communist.

He ruffled a LOT of feathers one day when he told kids in band class that they were "ignorant." One of them got upset, and said, "We're not stupid!"

"No, I didn't say you were stupid. What can you tell me about a (specific Air Force fighter Jet)? Nothing? I'm not surprised, as it was built decades before you were born. I used to fly one in Korea. But I don't know anything about playing the trumpet."

Kids went home and told their parents they were ignorant. Lots of parents got upset.

I know I was one of them :)!
My mother held on to "stuff that might be useful some day," big time. She had boxes and boxes of ... metal hangers .... mayonaise jars (glass might be extinct some day) ... metal coffee cans, with lids ... brown paper bags .... she grew up during the Great Depression. I'm sure that accounted for a lot of her insecurities.

I heard tell, way back when, that Safeway was owned by the Mormon Church and if things ever went bad in the US, all the stores had orders to truck their goods to Utah.
No, they were never owned by The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. Some people still call them Mormon. Not sure why. That's the man that put together all of the records waaay back in the day on the western Hemisphere. Anyway..Albertsons had it. :)

I've got the whole set of Revere Ware with the copper bottoms and a piece or two of the later ones with the thick bottom.
About 10 years back a handle on the bigger stock pot needed replacing. eBay to the rescue. The new handle came in a set of 2 so I kept the other one. Used it on the shorter stock pot last month.

Who else was it on this thread a hundred or so pages ago that holds on to such things as what might could come in handy some day?
Mighta been me...I do have to plead guilty at any rate 😂. It feels so good when you have what you need though doesn't it. Your stock pot thanks you 😄
