I'm only 13, but I remember running around as a toddler in the long Australian grass with my cousins, getting bindies in my feet and the blow up pools patched with tape. I wish I had grown up just a decade before so I had more time to play like that before all my friends became glued to iPads.
My mum always tells me amazing stories of when her and her brothers would ride around in the woods and wack wasp nests with sticks, when the phones were stuck to the walls and before social media was a thing.

I've been reading all of your stories and watching silently, I love listening to them and imagining I was there and I grew up then.

You can still do those things, hop on your bike and go riding around - as a kid we would just ride our bikes for something to do

Of course I was fortunate and grew up at a lake, in the summer we swam and sunbathed like Seals on the raft out on the lake, winters we would skate on the lake.

I wasn’t much older than you when I got a pony, she and I went everywhere. Miles and miles.

You can have a wonderful adventurous time - just do it

I remember vehicles with roll down windows - so glad that we have power windows now.

And remember the high beam switch was on the floor and you had to press it with your foot to engage/disengage the high beams

And a vent down on the floor you could open for air to flow through by your feet. Man, I miss that!

I kinda miss wind down windows. I felt more in control of how far to open it!

To operate the window you had a handle on the inside of the door and you would rotate the handle to make the window go up or down.
