I was musing recently about how I hated those books as a kid, because I always made the horrible choices leading to the gloomy outcome. Then I lived my life in the same fashion.I’m a middle school reading teacher (who used to love these books) and I use these as examples of 2nd person point of view. Kids don’t appreciate them, of course.
I didn’t think there was except for the ultra rare ones. Mine still have tags and many are limited edition but they aren’t the exclusive ones. But if you know someone who wants them, let me know! You should sell them. There is still a market for them.
Sounds about right. I think I was 15 and planning to retire on the sale of my beanie baby collectionI listed my entire stash on Craigslist about 10 years ago (yes, from ~1996-99) for ……..….. not the thou$ands I envisioned as a youngster, but something ridiculous like 10 dollars total.
I think the books prepared us to choose our own adventures in life. Except when I read them and befell some horrible outcome, I would flip back to the last decision tree and try again.I was musing recently about how I hated those books as a kid, because I always made the horrible choices leading to the gloomy outcome. (Maybe some intuitive childhood psychologist has written a therapy program for kids: “How to apply lessons from ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ to the rest of your life.”)
Of Garbage Pail Kids? Or stale gum?Yep gotta nice collection
My parents tried to sell a whole bunch of beanie babies on craigslist for $10. No one wanted them.I listed my entire stash on Craigslist about 10 years ago (yes, from ~1996-99) for ……..….. not the thou$ands I envisioned as a youngster, but something ridiculous like 10 dollars total.
not me.Who remembers the kill switches on old lawn mowers that were just a strip of metal on the engine block that you used your finger to bend over to ground out the ignition system on the end of the spark plug?
