I remember when ALL stores were closed on Sunday, even gas stations. You had to gas up on Saturday or wait until Monday.
The only public places opened on Sunday were the malls/shopping centers where everyone would do their walking during winter months when it was cold and snowy.

Yes, and the sleep over would often turn into a slumber party and grew in number exponentially - rather spontaneously.

Todays youth are missing out on so much, and they have no idea.

I can remember when getting a scuffed knee created more of a concern from the parents over the torn pants rather than the knee. After all, the knee would heal on its own.

…..and, how about that hefty $.05 you had to spend on milk for your school lunch?

I never got milk at school especially since the only lunches we got at school were the ones we brought from home.

I remember when there was a lot of concern about the "black" helicopters. Just saw one do a fly by here. Nothing to be concerned about because it was the pipeline company doing their routine fly over check on their gas pipe lines.

I never got milk at school especially since the only lunches we got at school were the ones we brought from home.

We had to bring our own lunches, but they still had milk brought in: 5 cents for plain, 10 for chocolate. Order and pay first thing in the morning, get your milk at lunch! It was a treat for me to be able to buy a milk, especially since I would only drink the chocolate.

Probably walked to school in the snow while carrying heavy books, I know I did.

…..or, when schools didn’t close because of snow flurries.

Nowadays, school buses don't run if there's even a *possibility* of inclement weather, but the schools are open or else they don't get funded for that day.
