I'm so old I Remember when:

For cutting across a board you should use a crosscut saw. Your drawing does not look like a crosscut or rip saw.

For shorter people, a saw like this will make your crosscuts easier.

I don't know if it is still done or not. I haven't seen them in years but every year at Easter the feed stores got all these colored chicks in for the kids as pets. If memory serves me correctly all I ever saw of them when the feathered out and matured were white leghorn roosters.
I remember those! Nope... illegal now.

I remember that I had no crystal ball info about all the power saws that I have today.
Skill saw
Miter saw
Table saw

I do have my dad's old cross cut saw that he felled the trees with for lumber for a small pole barn. Since it has been enclosed and still stands. That was over 60 years ago. All done with out a single power tool.

Those little 'U' shaped tacks are the worst. Hold the wire with one hand, the nail with the second and swing the hammer with the third.
I've nailed so many fencing staples throughout the years making dome pens. Best I could do is nail the longer side in first straight like a nail. Then one good hit. Trying to nail both sides in at the same time made for sore fingers
