Oh, yeah, I remember those! My Mom and my best friend had them...the only way to get your hair dry on curlers during those hot, HUMID summer months where we lived in Georgia. Janet used those big rollers, Mom had the sponge ones. My hair would never hold a curl no matter what, so I was spared using the dryer. Just wore it straight with that classy 60s stretchy headband...

Remember seeing ladies in curlers Everywhere?

Saturday mornings mom & I went grocery shopping at Pantry Pride & most women there were in curlers.



They made sure they were dolled up for Saturday night

Come meet Annie Beth! I haven’t personally even met her myself - my family got her out in California where they’re vacationing.

We'd hang our 9 volt battery, Realistic, transistor radios at the handle bars & tune in the only AM radio station that played our pop music of the day.

We were so cool, listening to Rolling Stones, Beatles & The Supremes, all day til street lights came on, only stopping to get ice cream or popsicles from the ice cream man (IF we were lucky enough to have some quarters), or untangle pant legs.

We tried the clothes pin on pant legs too, But when they didn't work well to hold the pants, we ended up using the clothes pins to put cards on our spokes, to make the bicycles sound like Harleys

In the spring and fall I would just tuck them in my socks - that wasn’t cools for sure !

I tuck my pants legs into my socks now because of fire ants. I look just as uncool now as I did then. Fire ants hurt much worse than a bicycle chain though.
