My favorite - but not the first - computer was one my sons designed and built with parts from New Egg... back when that company was worth a darn.

My Dad's computer was from Newegg. I remember him going through the assembly process.

I was very small though and didn't exactly understand everything, but that is one of the reason I'm fascinated with technology.

Yes, it was for me. I said yes.

More to the story:

The next day, we took donuts in to work. We started at 3, as we were the second shift for the print department. That day was also the first day of work for the new night shift film processor. That guy was sitting in the lunch room when we arrived with donuts.

Another coworker from the day shift asked the reason for the donuts...? and we told him. He picked up the phone and all-paged the building, "Hey everyone, donuts in the lunchroom. Scott and Sally are getting hitched!"

The new film processor just looked at us with a bemused expression. I've reminded him of that a few times. He's a really good friend and we've kept in touch even after we all went to different jobs.

I'm a sucker for happy ending romantic stories. They're even better in real life. Congrats on finding your love and what sounds like a really good friend.

Makes sense...same way we say bird brained! It's incredible how smart my hens are when escaping from a pen but it's impossible for 'em to figure out how to get back in.
