I'm so old I Remember when:

We were furnished with black ball point pens to darken those ovals with and then the machine read them when we put them in. Our votes were tallied state wide early. No waiting around. BTW... I'm so old I remember the famous hanging chad ballots we had in FL.... Yup. Wonder if my chads got hung...

I remember when one voted on paper with a pen.

Today we used machines that you voted electronically, then printed your ballot, then fed the ballot into a machine.
We still use paper and a red pencil 🖍️ to vote in the Netherlands. Because electronic voting can’t be made 100% safe against hackers.

We use paper and pen, but mostly due to the cost of electronic systems. Guess it’s less expensive to hire people
To count, than have equipment that would need to be replaced every so often as upgrades occur. Also gives jobs to people, looks good on the financial ‘books’.

I am so old I remember when we used butcher paper to wrap meat, and there was no bottled water. Plastic wrapping was not to be found, and you had wooden prongs to eat fries.
Are your fries different than our fries?
Most here just use their fingers.

I remember when this was a "smartwatch".

I always thought of those as disposable hors d'oeuvre forks that caterers sometimes use. They'd work well for fries, you'd keep the grease/salt/catsup off your fingers.

I'm so old I remember when it was "catsup" and not "ketchup." Or is that just a regional difference? 🤔
