So the ball is about an inch in diameter.

And today's jacks are some sort of alloy that bends when a sneaker steps on them. The old steel jacks went right through the soles of our Keds and STILL hurt like crazy!

Oh YES - to both questions. My Mom saved - and redeemed - them almost religiously. We had loads of fun sticking them in the little booklets and poring over the catalogues. I still have a partially filled booklet stashed away with my childhood treasures!

Oh yeah! I actually brought that up earlier in this thread. That was the dream book that I would flip through listing all the things I was going to buy with no conceivable way of paying. I was just a kid after all.
