Oh YES - to both questions. My Mom saved - and redeemed - them almost religiously. We had loads of fun sticking them in the little booklets and poring over the catalogues. I still have a partially filled booklet stashed away with my childhood treasures!

I did lick and paste into the books but I have no memory of ever redeeming them…..ever. Still, it was a fun.

Well that’s what happens when the younger generations protect themselves from every little germ out there. With us having lived through all these years…..and surviving…… we should be good to go for quite sometime yet.

Let’s see, Methuselah lived to 969 years and I’m just shy of 67 so that’s a difference of 902 years so……..yeah, I think I can beat him……..then again maybe not. BUT, never say die, right?

I remember in my early year starting out in the workforce, whenever I post a letter out in the office, that is just 1 or 2 letters, I licked the envelops and the stamps.
One day my manager saw that, she says to me did you know that those envelops are made by the prisoners in jails, they urinate on the glue that stick on the envelop? I don't know if this was true or not, but I never did that again .

For certain we'll outlive the sterile environment crowd. Our immune systems actually had to work.

…….and, how about those Polaroids everyone was taking back then?

Kodak took a couple of years to develop a competitor but the wait was very well worth it. Polaroids became all cracked and coming apart at the edges within a few years. The Kodak instant pictures are still in good shape to this day.

At my last job, I worked overnight in a hospital lab. The busiest time in the night was between 4 & 6 am so the docs would have fresh labs when they came in for morning rounds. Every bed, every floor, both the children's and 2 adult towers. Sometimes after a particularly long night I'd crank this from my work station. More than few heinies would get to swaying.
