I'm so old I Remember when:

Physical stores are better - sometimes it's just nice to touch and feel something before you buy. Unfortunately, with the demise of malls, so much driving from this store to that one takes a ton of time and planning so there's no back-tracking. Online is so much more convenient.
I prefer physical stores for some things, but pushing a button and having the item show up is so much easier.

We live in a time of kings.

And most of the time you don't even have to re-enter your credit card information since everyone "remembers you".
And thus your info gets stolen.

Living out in the middle of nowhere with the closest town being a 45 minute drive away, and the closest city with more options is an hour and a half away, I often end up having to order online. Use the rechargeable credit card for this, putting only what's needed on it.

I'm savvy enough to know I don't want ANY of my personal info out there.

If you've ever been in a hospital - used the emergency room or been admitted - guess what - your information has probably been stolen and out on the dark web. We unfortunately incurred both; an ER visit and a hospitalization in the last two years - yep - a few months after that received a letter stating all our personal information was stolen. Had to cancel everything and start over - only for it to happen again and again. Hospitals are notorious for insufficient IT practices to keep patient information safe. Happened to family members as well.

Ever notice how being sloppy actually helps with remembering where things are…….strange but true.
Hey! I resemble that remark! I usually know what's in all of my assorted and sundry piles. It's when someone else (I'm lookin' at YOU ... you know who you are!) tries to organize them that I lose things!

If you get to a room and can't remember why you are there, retrace your steps, go back to where the original thought hit you -- if you can remember that much -- and low and behold - you remember what your intention was to begin with. It's like the brain behaves like a broken record and gets stuck or something. I'm sure some psychologist could explain it. Happy to hear I'm not the only one with this issue - happens all the time.

Ever put the milk in a cabinet and a non refridgerated item in the fridge? Next time I misplace my phone, I think I'll look for it there, or perhaps in the oven.
The scary part is the millions of hours and dollars that someone spent to figure out what Moms have ben telling us for centuries, "Retrace your steps!"
And yes to the second part, too. Just last night I found the can of "Keep Refrigerated" cinnamon rolls I bought months ago and "lost." They were in the FREEZER! Hey, at least I kept them cold!

In my younger days, my floor had been dubbed The Vortex after my friend dropped her hairbrush into the pile of clothing and junk on it and was never found again.

BUT, if I needed something from that pile, I could just reach in and pull it out! I knew where everything (of mine) was in that mess!

I can do something similar with stuff that I have that has a set place. Where'd that cable go? It's on my desk or in the drawer.

I don’t use Reddit (or other socials).
