The first time I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was at the local theater. We called it going to the show. It always included cartoons before the movie.

I can not remember the last time I went to the show???

what with the price per ticket, and the loan requirement to buy concessions, the chatter and inconsideration of others and the option to have a large screen 4k tv with easy access to your own kitchen for snacks and your own bathroom, why even bother going to a movie theatre.

My grandmother had a little yellow electric golf cart back in the 1980s. I may have driven that with my little cousins in it to make a candy run to the local market, with her permission, when I was fourteen.

For the sound and the feel of the sound.
As a kid, we walked 2 miles to the theatre, paid 50 cents and sat there all afternoon and watched 3 "shows". The popcorn was a lot better then also. Too much butter these days.

I remember reading Dick and Jane in 2nd grade! I got in trouble because we were reading out loud, and that went to slow for me. When the teacher called on me to read, I was a few pages ahead of the class, and had no idea where they were.

How about that, you could stay all day and watch the movie over and over again. And the theaters were luxurious.

This isn’t really old at all but I remember CD players and VHS tapes. I miss having CD players everywhere.

My dad had quite a collection of them. Turn tables (ie, record players) used to have all 4 speeds: 16, 33, 45, and 78. We used to crack up at how a record sounded on the "other" speeds.

have you ecer had or seen slate records. My grandmother had a collection 33’s that slate. I can’t remember the musical style but it was a set in a green binder.
