Never heard of slate records. I do remember my dad's 78s being very brittle. He picked on up and clipped it slightly on the corner of the bookcase, and it shattered.

I said slate but they could have been soap stone or similar. I just remember they were heavy, thick, and cool to the touch. definitely made from something other than vinyl. Only time I ever saw anything like them.Never heard of slate records. I do remember my dad's 78s being very brittle. We didn't have kindergarten back then. That series also did not exist then.
NO.
I remember those (and may still have some). But I don't think they were made of slate. Bakelite maybe?Never heard of slate records. I do remember my dad's 78s being very brittle. He picked on up and clipped it slightly on the corner of the bookcase, and it shattered.
Maybe that's what my dad's 78s were made of. I remember them being heavy, thicker than my records, and very brittle.I remember those (and may still have some). But I don't think they were made of slate. Bakelite maybe?
There was no public school kindergarten when I was little. I went to a private school kindergarten at a church.Did anyone else read this series in kindergarten?
DO IT! Theaters are modernizing to entice people away from NetFlix and their own comfy armchairs. DD treated me to a movie for Christmas (Moana II - WONDERFUL flick!) and I was shocked at the upgrades. The full-on easy chair recliners - with foot rests -`oversize armrests (no sharing) and a flip-down "side-table" were amazing! Get your popcorn early, 'cause you won't want to leave your seat! The first time I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was at the local theater. We called it going to the show. It always included cartoons before the movie.
I can not remember the last time I went to the show???
