I'm so old I Remember when:

I tend to talk with a lot of old people in person. They always have really interesting stuff to say and share.
Thank you for saying this.

Old people are a living repository of history. I really (REALLY) wish I talked to my grandmother more. I heard my mom's stories of living through the Great Depression as a young girl. I missed out on hearing my grandmother's stories as a mother in that time.

As @Sally PB said, thank you for that.
I really regret that I didn’t have the wisdom to listen to the stories of my parent’s and grandparents’ youth.
I have a lot of their letters that I am going through to build a picture for myself, but it would be so much richer if I could talk to them live.
Fortunately they did pass on a lot of practical every day things so I am grateful for that.

When I was in middle school, we had to do a project where we interviewed someone that lived through the Great Depression. I interviewed my grandma, my dad's mom. I recorded our conversation on tape and cherished that tape for years. It got ruined in a flood and I was devastated. But everything she said was amazing and a real eye opener. Her fiance(my grandfather) was drafted into WWII and she spoke of that also. He refused to marry her until he came back from the war so in case he died, she wasn't a widow. The strongest generation

That is interesting. Why?

I wouldn't have thought any Russians would have emigrated to Maryland - it seems so unlike their home climate.
Sorry, I was being sarcastic. The primary second language here is Spanish. We have alot of chicken farms, hatcheries, growouts, and processing plants down here and many if not most of the Spanish speakers work in that industry.

My sister and I (older sister, not CC) want to go and see if we can get more information out of a person we know. He knows a lot about this city and he's on the older side.

Once I went with him to fix his PC and on the way home he gave me a history of the street that we drove down. Used to be the main route from CA to FL if I'm not mistaken.
