I'm so old I Remember when:

Feed them all all-flock.
Ya know, I went through this over the summer when my Roo developed a kick reflex during a hot spell. I took a pic of the back of the Kalmbach 17 percent layer crumbles.

Min calcium. 3.5 percent. Max calcium. 4.5 percent. At that point I bought Kalmbach 16% Flock maintainer pellets. My roosters are happy with it. Min calcium 0.75 percent.
Max calcium, 1.25 percent.

So I just went full circle explaining everything. At this point I'm gonna say, If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Both of my roos should benefit from this. There's virtually no calcium in the 16 percent flock maintainer.

It just makes me go through a couple extra steps by making sure there is no calcium in their system. The 'boys' do like the pellets, and the girls do to (which is a small problem)

However... I realize the calcium is not the main problem with my older Roo. He is STILL kicking in discomfort.

I am somewhat positive that Boldo root tea can be used to flush out the kidneys. I just have to figure out the dosage. I'm gonna confirm this with a vet.
