i have like 5 acres... i have one area thats electric fenced for the 2 horses.. like 2 acres give or take.. could i let them free range there for an hour or 2 a day?
I too am in W. Washington. I let the chickens out to free range my 4 acres when I get home from work and then lock them up in preditor proof coop when they go in at night. They are in a covered kennel run 12' x 24' during the day when I'm at work.
I have red tail hawks and coyote that visit the upper pasture in the morning from time to time eating field mice.
I haven't lost any yet in almost 2 yrs but know that I could lose one while free ranging when I'm not watching late afternoon.
