I'm starting to think my new duck is a goose...?

Is there any way to know for certain other than just playing the wait n see game? I like to be prepared and not surprised lol;)

Wether he's a duck or goose lol he's acting like a goose but he looks like either a duck or a goose so i was hoping there was a way to know for sure which he is without just waiting for him to grow bigger lol

4000% positive that he/she is an African Goose

Wonderful! That last picture really helped too because that's how it looks when i put my Cas next to my friends two actual Welsh harlequins! Ok now to start preparing for a much larger house "duck" than i originally planned on! Lol Thank you!:D

Oh and one more question now that i know he's a goose lol... It's the males that get the bill bump right? And at about what age does that happen?

Anytime! The first set of picture are what Cas will actually look like. They are very very beautiful birds. And no one will ever break into your house more than once :)

Both male and female African Geese get the bill hump. A males will be larger but thats about it. Males and females are nearly identical but from what I've read, male geese sound like a fog horn. Also, ganders are more likely to puff up and 'attack' or at least investigate intruders. Hens are more lax.
