Impacted crop! HELP!

When my rooster had a severely impacted crop I massaged it every few hours, for about 10 minutes each time, even getting up once in the middle of the night. The crop became stretched, and he was unable to keep any water down, so I put an elastic bandage around him to compress the crop. His crop eventually shrank back to a normal size, and was able to not wear his bandage any longer. I still kept an eye on his crop though, and have had to massage it a few times since then.

She is okay. Her breath is still smelly but she is now having normal sized poops. I gave her some yogurt and she ate a lot of it.

Keep up with the probiotics and a light diet of water soluble foods for several days. Offer up the yogurt daily for the next week to help with the yeast infection. Good bacteria feed on yeasts.

Her crop has seemed to go down a little. I'm going to check on it in the morning, and give her yogurt. I have a package of "save a chick" probiotics, can I give some to her?

Absolutely! These are exactly what she needs. :)

Thanks,
Speedos crop was full of liquid yesterday, today it's less full and has hard food in it. I gave her yogurt and water and some seeds from the company happy hen treats. She was sleeping in the roost with the others and it was hard to wake her up- she was roosting, I didn't touch her but I made notice and poked the window, I had to yell to get her to move her head out of her wing...?

How is she this morning? You need to get that gunk moving or it is going to poison her.

Have you wormed them yet? The crop is not going to empty properly and will back up if the bird has an intestinal blockage of worms. So you need to do this today.

Then treat this as an impaction. You might try this conconction on her to help dissolve this mass. This comes from my article about crops....

1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda (do NOT use baking powder)
1/2 teaspoon Ginger Powder (you can even use the contents of a human Ginger capsule)
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
a squirt of Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons of water

Mix this all together and use a syringe without a needle and suck up 1/4 to 1/2 ml at a time and squirt down the throat, in front under the tongue. Never give more than 1/2 ml at a time or you can aspirate the bird, having it go down the wrong pipe. Get this ENTIRE mixture down the throat. This will only take a few minutes to get it all down. Do this 3 times a day for one or two days and the mass will dissolve within 24 to 36 hours. If you know how to tube feed, you can give this one one fell swoop through a tube 3 times a day.

Get her wormed today if you can. This is not going to go away by itself and will kill her if action is not taken soon. She has been sick far too long and like old food, it turns toxic in the system.

I will try the crop impaction mixture. Should I keep giving her yogurt though?

Has she been dewormed yet? I think I suggested that over a week ago. :(
