impacted crop, huge, hard, not responding to treatment

Well that was a good compromise, After I was picked up off the floor from fainting I probably would have needed one.

Gloria's Gang, Tractor supply has antibiotics that are intra muscular injectible. The dosage might be tricky unless the bottle states it by weight and then you can do the math. A little to much won't hurt since it's in the muscle not the blood vein.....Fireman Bill in Va

The whole thing took about an hour and 15 minutes. It didn't seem that long at all while it was going on. I had to keep stopping while I was cutting. I also took my time stitching so that it would be nice ans tight. The needle was so small it was difficult to work with.

Sylvia is doing great! She has been out in the coop for two nights and every morning her crop is flat and soft. She is soooo happy!

I can't tell you how great you did, and Sylvia was such a good patient, I hope I never have to do that but it sure helped me to see if I have to I can. Did you use regular thread or did you have sutures? It might have been on the video but I have forgotten.

Wow what an informative video! Thank for posting it. And you're awesome for doing that for your girl.

God forbid, if I ever have to do a surgery like this on my girls, it's been a great teaching tool.
