Impacted Crop that won’t improve!!

We just put one of our 3 1/2 year old BO down last week due to crop issues. It was suggested to us that crop issues often stem from other other issues. That was the case for us since the vet did a necropsy and found cancer in her abdomen. The mass had caused a massive backup. I felt horrible afterwards but now know we did the right thing.

Im sorry to hear about your bantam, what did the cancer look like when you opened her up? Was it just a mass of tissue? I lost mine also, I was planning on doing a necropsy but she died while I was at work and my parents like to bury my chickens within 30 min of finding them, so she had been buried for a good 8 hours already. Maybe it’s for the best? I wonder if I would have been scared for life cutting into my Martha and seeing something horrific in her. But it would have been nice to know for sure wether it was a tumor or a backup.
