Impacted crop?

I checked her this morning around 10am. Her crop seemed the same. I messaged it some more. When I did that she didn’t seem to care. More like it felt good
It probably did. If it isn't empty in the morning then the article @Eggcessive and I quoted are what you need. My rooster didn't have a sour smell but he did have sour crop. It's important to know if its sour crop or impacted crop so you can do the correct treatments.

My sick hen finally recovered from her balance issues after a month, but then her crop became impacted. Mineral oil 5 ml plus a lot of water worked great for her. I tubed it into her, but if they will eat well, I would add it to chicken feed and egg, mixed with water. Giving oil by itself makes me nervous if they choke, since it can be aspirated. Now if she has a problem, I just put a few small chunks of solid refrigerated coconut oil into her egg or on top of her crumbles, and she scarfs them down.

Ok. I was massaging her crop earlier and she burped. I kinda got a whiff of something nasty like rotting.

I will admit that I am not an expert on crop problems. Others, such as @azygous, @casportpony, @TwoCrows, and pretty much anyone else probably could give better advice than I. Most hens that I have treated with an impacted or sour crop had reproductive problems primarily, and all died.
She is one of my best layers. She’s never had any issues laying
