Crowing
I have a Marans pullet with a very serious impacted crop it’s very hard and about the size of my hand i’ve gave her several ml of oil and water with no results. Any more suggestions?

Grits available all times. She eats nutrena naturwise layer pellets. she pooped when I brought her up. I have withheld food (i didn’t know if i could give it to her plus i wanted to see if it would go down) she was hatched in march. i’ve been treating her since tonight. should I offer her food? When did this start? How long have you been treating her? Is she still eating? Is she eating at all,? Pooping? How old is she? What does she eat? Do you have grit available at all time? Let's ssk @Wyorp Rock , @Eggcessive , and @casportpony for advice.
Thank you so much! Your post was very informative more so than any of the websites i’ve visited trying to learn anything I could. I’m really hoping to get her through this! Happy New Year to you too!I am very sorry you are having to deal with this at this particular time, even though no time is a good time. But, until some others chime in, please read my thread here about my hen’s impacted crop. I received some of the best information from some of the most knowledgeable BYC members. I am certain what they told me to do will be some of the same things they will tell you.
Happy New Year and best of luck with your girl.![]()
She also doesn’t have any sour smell to her. When I separated her I gave her a bowl of water and a bowl of grit (no food) I wasn’t sure if she was allowed food or not. Her crop is super hard and gritty. I wanted to try the stool softener but I only have Miralax and I can’t go to the store to get the proper kind tonight.
