Impacted crop

@chickenenthusiasts5698, I’m sorry I crashed on you last night. I’m thankful for some of the others that are either night owls or on the west coast. ;)

One thing I haven’t mentioned is that I am a firm believer in Nutri Drench. It has been a lifesaver for more than a couple of my chicks/chickens. If they are weak for any reason the Nutri Drench is an instant pick me up. I guess sugar water would do that too, though. She may benefit from a dose of either.

Also, I still think you need to be giving her the miconazole. I do remember that giving Gabby this medicine was a huge turning point in her recovery. That and giving her the grit.

You asked a bit earlier what the dosage for the miconazole is. Here it is.
My girl even pecked it all off my finger. I didn’t have to wipe it inside her beak.
I gave her the yeast medicine I had to put it in her beak but she got it. Her crop feels smaller so I feel so hopeful for her i’ve ebeen so worried for her she’s one of my favorites. I’m hoping by tomorrow it will be even smaller. I have rooster booster in her water do you think it would be ok to mix with the nurti drench? Don’t worry about crashing! Sleep is always needed.

I think your girl is on the mend too, but keep up the massages and the miconazole for a full 7 days.

From what little I know about the Rooster Booster it is more like electrolytes to help the gut. The Nutri Drench is a nutritional supplement made to give the chicken an immediate boost of energy and essential nutrients.

I don’t know if the two should be mixed or not, but if she is eating and drinking she probably doesn’t need the Nutri Drench anymore.

She won’t eat or drink on her own ive even giving her a little apple sauce. My sister keeps birds in our room and my pullet thinks anything that isn’t birdseed shells is poison.

When I treated my rooster for sour crop I would take about 1/4 teaspoon of his treat grains and mix it in a bowl. I’d mak sure it was all scraped together in the bottom along one edge and hold it as he ate it. This way I could make sure he ate it all and that no one else got it. As he got to the last of it I would keep regathering it so he could get every last drop. Once your chicken is eating again this might work for you.

Update on my pullet.. all the hard/putty feeling is gone from her crop it’s currently all watery. Should I burp her? or just keep giving her water to try to flush it?
