Important News Story About Dog Attacking Raccoon

While I hate it when people encourage their dogs to kill other animals, I still don't think the owner should be prosecuted. The raccoon is a pest animal and dogs are often employed to control pests. I thought the comment about "mice not being controlled" when they asked about cats hunting mice was a weak argument.

For me, I would be more worried about the dog getting rabies than the health of the raccoon.

I'm just adding this to the "stupid thing to waste our tax money on" list.

And I agree with Reb, gotta find 12 people to agree to convict.

But then again I'm a farmer, not a city feller that don't know what a coon can do if cornered.

I figure even in NYC any random 12 people at least one has been on the wrong end of a raccoon in there life.

I never get selected to sit as a juror on this sort of case. As a matter of fact I never get selected to sit as a juror on any case. Wonder why that is?

I only want to do my civic duty.

I was on a jury that got scolded for being too quick. We were sent to the jury room to deliberate and as soon as the door shut, the foreman looked at everybody else and asked... "Do we even need to talk about this one or just vote?" I said VOTE! ok, everybody that says guilty raise their hands. It was 100% guilty first time. When the Foreman tried to open the door to tell the feller waiting (Don't know what his "title" is?) He said, you can't come out yet... the judge had to go pee.

In all fairness, they had video of the whole thing, 30 witnesses and the guy still plead not guilty. I'd have plead guilty to keep 12 more people from seeing that video! It was the most embarising thing I ever saw.

They had a judge later decide his fate... We volunteered to do it since we were there anyway, but they woudn't let us.

some group will probably protest that the raccoon was denied his civil liberties. Boggles the mind .I am wondering why the cell phone guys just happened to be there.
