My issue is, they have NO business knowing how many chickens I have... its none of their dang business.

Next they'll be sending something else, or demanding you do tests on your chickens, or medicate/vaccinate them because of "bird flu" there will be all kinds of junk to follow.....
and whatever it is, it will need to be paid for - trust me on that one.... its all about the $$$ at the end of the day... perhaps they'll start taxing on how many chickens you have, or how many eggs you get.

They just need to keep their noses out of MY business.

they don't need to know about my animals, my property, or anything else. The government is always meddling and that info goes somewhere. It doesn't matter if they use it now or not, they could be collecting it for future use that we may not even know about yet. I know this sounds paranoid, but it IS the government after all.

If Hillary gets elected...bigger government is on the way;she even tell you so,in her speeches! If you care to get a preview of what National Health Care is like,volunteer two days at a VA clinic or hospital;you're sure to get an eye opener-real quick. This is the promise that the American people made to all veterans;those that served this country and its way of life,those that went willingly into harm's way,those that go to distant countries to defend US interests so that the American people may move freely about the world without fear or reprisal for just being American. Veterans that served in peacetime as well as during war. Time off the soapbox or I'll start waving the flag.

Only scientists and government certified experts are the only people qualified to have the answers to our problems. The government pays for these "professionals" to get their degrees,their certifications and qualifications,pays them for a career and even gives them money to do studies for research problems and questions and the answers;according to what these government sponsored experts say. How amazing is that? They all justify each other! Makes you wonder about people like Al Gore and his false agenda and erroneous factoids on the veracity of "Global Warming." There are many other examples with the current administration. The Axis Of Evil...The Patriot Act...The (highly modified) Immigration Bill; to name a few,but why bother with this lame duck/dead horse?

I'm sure that it irks the local and state government that I don't have to pay any form of tax except sales tax. In order to get this Right;the cost was literally an arm and a leg. I'm also "off the grid" producing all of the electricity that I need to run my tiny homestead and the well and the filtration system. I keep poultry for meat and eggs,I hunt and fish and I grow my own fruit and veggies. Lastly,I'm all for small government,like patching the roads,throwing low-lives in jail for the maximum,and keeping the grass cut around town hall. Other than that what do we need career politicians for?

A firend tells me that it is now illegal for an indivdual to own a chicken in Cuba. All chickens must be owned by a cooperativa. The feral chicken is a true counter revolutionary.

Having worked for the government, I can tell you it is only a matter of time until someone thinks of a way to tax people living off of the grid. Government abhors anything that is not taxable.

I must dash off a letter to Ted Kennedy alerting him to those scofflaws that raise there own potatoes and generate their own electricity. A committee must be formed to investigate this situation.

as far as nais stuff goes, would taking the tax benefit of livestock make you pop up on the radar as well? i am eligible to claim the benefit here but wasn't sure if i should or not for that reason. my taxes are very, very low (benefit of bad neighborhood lol) so it's not that big of a deal. but still.........
