surprisingly we have corn hanging on and 2-3 butternut squash growing. The pumpkins and zucchini kicked the bucket. The peppers never came up and the tomatoes were like the little plants that didn’t. We have a few watermelon seedlings but that’s as far as they’ve grown.
Oh and that was all direct sow after my seedlings didn’t survive the garage...
everything is overgrown with weeds as well.
I’ve already told my husband I have to switch to raised beds next year. I had such high hopes![]()
When we lived in Virginia we had no dirt in our backyard, it was a cement patio and my hubs built me 2 boxes and my son grew an impressive garden with the little space we had. Now we have a dedicated 1500sqft (well less because part of that I fenced off for the ducks) garden area and even after being professionally tilled twice and by me several times (and spraying vinegar) I can’t keep it from being weedy. (My understanding isn it’s actually an inground pool filled with dirt). We just started using raised beds this year. It makes a huge difference!
