In a word, how would you describe your garden as of today?

Understanding....that I was late getting started because I finally got a permanent position instead of being a temp, that I had a coop to build, that the weather went from stifling hot and dry to days and inches of endless rain.
I've weeded, did some more planting, and tied up tomatoes this week.
Last year was stellar for gardening. Because of covid, the college had us on alternating weeks, and short days, so we had, one week on, then one week off all summer, 4 hr days, and got payed 30 hr/week.

Beautiful.

Despite 22 degrees in the end of May, my cabbage, broccoli, and brussel sprouts have bounced back. First batch of peas are ready to pick. Spinach is about done, but chard and kale are thriving. Herb garden is over flowing. Beans, potatoes, carrots, leeks, and onions are doing well. Garlic is ready to pick. Squash, melons, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and sweet potatoes are taking over the greenhouse. Can barely walk in there.

Overrun!

I can't keep up with the squash and zucchini at this point, I've given sone away to neighbors and friends already. Going to try new recipes today to use up some more. Tomatoes are plentiful but green 😩 Pumpkins and watermelons are growing nicely but as usual refuse to stay where I tell them to stay and opt to run out in every which direction. 🤷‍♀️ Peppers are super small this year, I dunno what's up with them. They just aren't growing well.

Destroyed🙄
The deer have just decimated the garden this year. Ate every last bit of the sunflowers, ripped out the corn, munched on the Cucumbers, and walked though all the green beans. Also instead of vining, the cucumbers bushed out and went everywhere. But it is finally slightly growing back. Taking it’s sweet time though.
( if I could add another I would add .......envied by the whole flock! :p )

The deer have enjoyed our garden this round too. 🙃

we already started pickles yesterday and planning fried squash and fried green tomatoes with dinner tonight. another favorite of mine is squash soup! our pepper plants still seem small to me but some of the jalapeños that we’ve picked have been larger than usual!

Well.... first off...
every year I always say I will plant less so I don’t have as much to maintain. We have a million and one things going on every year. But that’s never the case for me. It’s so easy & fun to plant the seeds. I love watching all the little seedlings pop up & grow! The first few weeks are great! Then it starts to get hot & super rainy (Florida weather here) & the weeds TAKE OVER. Holy cow. It’s always a lot to keep up with. On top of the weeds I have a family of deer that come in at nights/early mornings and help themselves. They love the peppers. So right now my garden is a hot mess. 🤣 Maybe after a few years of doing this... this fall when I go to plant... I will “learn my lesson” this time and not plant as much.... we shall see. 😂🤷‍♀️

Wonderfull!
I dont do weeds.
I lay tarp down in spring and plant in X,s I have cut in the appropriate places. The tarp also holds in the moisture so i only have to water once a week or so.

I use the same tarp for years.
I have 2 garden spots one for tomatoes and the other for decorative mini gourds and pumpkins I sell to the markets in fall.
