In about 2-3 years, I'll be creating a new Breed of chicken called the Emerald Dragon.(Discussion)

After my first Projects are finished, I'll be attempting to make a new breed using specific breeds.

In about 2-3 years from now I'll be attempting to make a new breed. Calling it an Emerald Dragon.

The breed will consist of Black Sumatra/Silkie X Brahma/Easter Egger.

Features of the breed: Slick shiny black plumage, with long flowy tail, saddle, & hackle feathers.

Legs must be long, & muscular.

Body type will be muscular, & of sporty type.

Comb type will be walnut.

The skin will be black.

Number of toes will be 4.

Feathered Feet: (Optional)

No crest, or beard.

Attitude: Depends on the birds.

Purpose: Multipurpose: Meat, Eggs, & Ornamental.

Egg color: Cream to Off white, or light green.

Weight type: Heavy, 10-12 pounds.

I think that'll be a nice looking bird. The only thing is the variability you get from the EE. Those are already barnyard mixes really.

I know about the EE, one reason I'm gonna wait until my first couple projects to be finished first.

Here's some Brahma/Easter Egger crosses I hatched out for meat birds this year, but I'll be hatching out more for this new breed project.

The most prominent colors produced from this cross is Silver, copper, gold, & Silver partridge.

Sounds good! Your chicken will be amazing and I will fight for it to be recognized by the APA because it will be stunning!
Ayam Cemani are also super rare, extremely expensive, and the hens are terrible layers. But it's not my desicion but adding them would make them really pretty so you had the right idea!

Humans and chickens have had about 10,000 year relation so anything that you may think it has already been done by someone else during those years, The Emerald Dragon sounds very much like the Kattu Seval of Asia, which is a Long Tail Malid type with a Parrot Beak.


Long Tails, Long Necks, Powerful Legs, I would call these the True Dragons of the Chicken World

What about incorporating Ayam Cemani instead of a silkie for the skin and size? My Black Penedesenca has some qualities you are looking for as well. Silkies don't typically get to be the size you want as far as I can tell? But my Black Penedesenca hen is very large but has more of the sleeker body vs. The boxy bodies like my barred rocks or marans. good luck!

I can only use what I have, but I can probably get some Ameracaunas next year. Meyer hatchery carries Blue, Black, & Splash Ameracauna chicks.
Their Easter Eggers are separate.
