Pics
Would it be okay to share a pic of my project Roo? If you remembered that little drawing I made before, I actually have a roo thats pretty close to it!
You may share. I kind of forgot what the picture looks like. I've been really exhausted the past few days.

I hatched 7 Malay chicks recently.

Sorry for your exhaustion. We have been pretty busy and now as the weather is getting warmer, it sucks.but Please do share pics of them!!

My drawing should be on page 7 here. I'll post a pic in just a second :)

So my first project Roo is this guy. His coloring is nearly on point. He is more of a grayish blue vs a more colorful blue. He has light leg feathering, though wish he had a bit more. He's nearly perfect, but would need to improve in size, posture and leg feathering.

Second guy here is very colorful! More of the blue I'm after. However, he has great size but completely lacks leg feathers at all. His posture could also use work, but coloring is right on. He is still young so we will see how he really progresses

I was waking up earlier then I wanted because I monitor lockdown closely.

Warmer weather is better then bitterly cold.
Okay I'll look back in a few minutes.

Peeps. There are 5 visible, 2 decided to stay under the heating plate.

will you breed with the first roo and if you get a hen breed her to the second? Will you line breed? father x daughter? I havent started my project yet, i tried but the eggs were unfertilized. I think they are fertilized now though.

After my first Projects are finished, I'll be attempting to make a new breed using specific breeds.

________________________________________

In about 2-3 years from now I'll be attempting to make a new breed. Calling it an Emerald Dragon.

The breed will consist of Black Sumatra/Silkie X Brahma/Easter Egger.

Features of the breed: Slick shiny black plumage, with long flowy tail, saddle, & hackle feathers.

Legs must be long, & muscular.

Body type will be muscular, & of sporty type.

Comb type will be walnut.

The skin will be black.

Number of toes will be 4.

Feathered Feet: (Optional)

No crest, or beard.

Attitude: Depends on the birds.

Purpose: Multipurpose: Meat, Eggs, & Ornamental.

Egg color: Cream to Off white, or light green.

Weight type: Heavy, 10-12 pounds.

Here's my idea for the roosters.

it’ll be a long, hard, task but that sounds like an amazing looking chicken! Really hope it works out!

I love the color contrast, especially how rich the red is of the top roo!

This might sound crazy, but I don't have any breeding pens set up. I completely got lucky with these Roos. At the time I hatched these guys, I had about 4 roos out with 60+ hens. I've been collecting eggs from my chocolate egger hen for the project since she is a solid blue, has beard and leg feathers. I believe the fathers of these two roos are different. When we are able, I want to set up some kind of a breeding pen. Likely I'll use unrelated birds to get more varying results before I think about line breeding or the like.
This project is fairly loose. Soon I'll be able to focus on it a bit more
