By far one of the weirdest most interesting threads I’ve seen in a while. There are 3 different conversations going on in one thread and who knows if OP is testing out their goose question.

Well they actually can when there’s issues with the firing pins and worn down parts. I’ve seen it happen unfortunately but it was at a military range and no one was injured thankfully. Then again they weren’t stuffing their thumb in the barrel.

Human put ammo in chamber. Doesn’t matter at that point when it goes off.

I have played with some neat toys that actually cooked a round off. That was neat. Barrel was smoking hot.

Exactly there are many people that will sadly pass because most of us simply do not have enough medical knowledge and the ones that do more often then not need machines to create the actual medicine and supplements.

TBH, people with guns have a chance of being useful... But nowhere near as useful as having a cohesive society. We literally evolved for group cooperative behavior. Stocking up ammo won't do you any good if you don't have someone who knows how to clean, sew, cook, build a fire, craft a pot, treat a wound, etc. There's too much knowledge needed for really living for one person to hold. No man is an island.

That's how I'm really hoping things can pan out. Sister with RA almost has her degree in chemistry with a focus on pharmacology. She can't treat a wound or butcher a deer but she has a chance of actually doing to lab work to create rudimentary medicine. Partner can play the flute, sing like a bird, teach children but can't butcher a deer. I can grow a row of potatoes, but when it comes to managing people and making them happy/keeping morale high I'm not the brightest bulb in the box. Forming groups and working together is really where it's at.

And yes, you need someone to hunt the geese with a gun too. But they're really just a small portion of society, and building a society is critical to success especially for people with advanced needs IMO.
