In an emergency, is it safe to eat the geese at my local park?

Wouldn't it be better to eat cats and dogs then coons and coyotes?
Isn't the home grown food source movement backed by the idea of raising your food humanly and knowing what does into them?

I do wish that eating cats & dogs was not so unthinkable in this country  When there are too many of any kind of animal, and it could be safely eaten by humans, the solution seems obvious to me (stray cats, unwanted dog breeds in shelters, also deer in some areas, and ex-pet potbelly pigs...) Because I have never actually eaten dog or cat, I am also curious how it tastes, but not curious enough to actually do anything about it.

Im curious how you got to that state of mind. That being said, if the world has ended as you said, the least of your concerns would be how to make the meat safe. But if your really worried about it, you could learn to prepare in advance by storing some real food, and learning what in nature is edible if it hasen't all been contaminated or destroyed. Fear does not protect you from danger, it robs you of living a happy life.

Digestion is overrated.

It really isn't. Cows need 4 stomachs to digest grass and rabbits have to eat their own droppings. We can get no goodness out of grass but don't take it too seriously. This whole thread is a bit of a joke!

It’ll just give the satisfaction of feeling full before it all comes back up. 😂

Haha!

For real. It'll come out the same as it went in. Then you can like, weave it into baskets and such. For gathering berries or whatever.

You can't weave baskets out of edible grasses they break. You make baskets out of willow. And I very much doubt that most modern people can tell an edible berry from a poisonous one!
